The Portland Timbers defeated the Seattle Sounders 2-1 on Friday night at Providence Park in Portland, Ore., behind goals from Dairon Asprilla and Sebastián Blanco. Yeimar scored the lone goal of the evening for Seattle. Yeimar opened the scoring in the eighth minute when he got his head on a beautiful cross to the far post by Alex Roldan. The hulking center back rose over his defender and headed in his first goal of the season.
D.C. UNITED SUFFER ANOTHER MLS DEFEAT
D.C. United have shown that they are one of the worst teams in MLS football this season with their uninspiring displays on the pitch. They fell to defeat number eleven in 19 MLS football games this season. New manager and English football legend Wayne Rooney was in the stands at Allianz Field as D.C. United were beaten 2-0 by hosts Minnesota Unitedon Saturday night thanks to the brace from the in-form Emanuel Reynoso. Ex-Manchester United striker Rooney was unable to influence the game as he’s still awaiting work permit for him to resume his new position in MLS football. He had been confirmed as the new D.C. United manager on Wednesday before he watched his team score a late equaliser from the stands for a 2-2 draw at home to Columbus Crew in the MLS.

For the latest MLS football game involving hosts Minnesota United and D.C. United, Reynoso gave the home team the lead on 13 minutes off the assist from Luis Amarilla. BUKSA SAYS FARWELL TO REVS FANS
Polish international Adam Buksa has said his farewell to the New England Revolution fans on the back of his transfer to RC Lens in the French Ligue 1. The transfer involving Buksa and MLS football side New England Revolution was officially announced last week with reports claiming that Lens paid around €10m for the transfer. In a farewell video to fans, Polish striker Buksa said he has always felt their love during his time in MLs football.

Buksa, 25, was in attendance at the Gillette Stadium to see the MLS football clash between hosts New England Revolution and Orlando City. He was at the home stadium of New England Revolution to say his goodbye formally. The Polish player watched as New England took their unbeaten run to seven games on the MLS football stage despite the draw with Orlando City. Carles Gil gave the home team the lead on 22 minutes with his fourth goal of the season, but the lead lasted for just 13 minutes before Robin Jansson scored the leveller for Orlando City who are one place and two points better than their hosts on the Eastern Conference standings. LAFC ADVANCE TO CUP LAST 16
MLS football side LAFC (Los Angeles FC) are through to the round of 16 in the US Open Cup after they saw off fellow MLS football team Portland Timbers in the round of 32. LAFC beat fellow MLS football outfit Portland Timbers 2-0 at home to their last 32 tie to advance into the last 16 stage of the competition.

Cristian Arango and Mamadou Fall were on the scoresheet for LAFC as they progressed to the next stage of the US Open Cup. Portland Timbers rotated their team for the LAFC game with Nathan Fogaca handed his debut for the game, while Timbers II loaneeVictor Griffith also made the starting XI.
