SigiSchmid praises Dempsey

Seattle Sounders coach SigiSchmid has praised Clint Dempsey for his great career following the player’s announcement that he will be retiring from the game. He said that it was an honor for him to have coached such a player and that he was one of the best players that he has ever worked with.

Indeed SigiSchmid was the manager of Seattle Sounders when Clint Dempsey joined the club in 2013 after having spent 8 magnificent seasons with Fulham in the Premier League. SigiSchmid said that he was an important player for the team especially with the fact that he had already made a name for himself in Europe.

He said that Clint Dempsey was a phenomenal player and that he was renowned for his goal-scoring skills in the Premier League. SigiSchmid said that the success of Clint Dempsey in Europe has paved the way for many other Americans to play in Europe.

He said that he was an icon and that has helped the MLS to gain more popularity in Europe.

SigiSchmid said that it was a pleasure for him to coach a player such as Clint Dempsey as he makes everything becomes easy. He said that one point he had him with Obafemi Martins in the team and that both players were terrific in attack. He said that they enjoyed every game and they made everything look easy.

Clint Dempsey enjoys a great career not only at club level but also in the national team. Indeed he managed to score 57 goals in 141 caps for the United States national team.

Clint Dempsey said that he has enjoyed a great career and that it is now time for him to focus on other aspects of his life. For the time being, he wants to spend more time with his family and friends.
